Cell Phone Driving Ban
I just found out the other day, where I live the powers that be now want to ban cell phone use while you drive. I know that some of you have gone through this already in your area, but I don't care about you right now, this is all about me.
I spend half of my day in my car. My job is done in my car. My livelihood is dependent on me doing my job while in my car. Now these sit behind a desk, pay me too much, legislative monkeys want to stop me from doing my job? That's fantastic!
Let's look at the reason why they want to ban cell phone use behind the wheel.
Cell phone use can distract some people while they drive.
Is this entire issue really because of phones, or is there a deeper problem? Perhaps giving a license to an idiot in the first place is the real issue. A bad driver is a bad driver regardless of whether or not they are holding a phone. Perhaps these same legislative monkeys need the income generated by driving permits so badly that the testing is simply a formality. Give a license to any one I guess. Woo Hoo another 70.00 dollars.
As far as distractions go...do you have a dog that runs around in the back seat or sits on your lap while you drive? That could be distracting.
Does your BFF sit beside you and gab your ear off all the way to the mall? Totally distracting
Or are you one of these people that drives using your knees so you can get both of your hands on your Big Mac? Although very yummy, also a distraction.
Perhaps your one of those annoying parents who turns around to make faces and noises at your infant in the back seat every fifteen feet. Not only a driving distraction for you, but now I have to look at your ugly face. A distraction to me.
They talk about heavy fines if you are caught using behind the wheel. I will see you in court! There is no way in hell I would pay that fine. Total discrimination against one so called distraction. Until all of the above distractions I mentioned are banned as well (any many more I didn't bother to waste my time on), go pound sand up your ass Mr. Legislative Monkey, I'm not payin'.
